These flavourful Buttermilk Sourdough Waffles with Protein and Whole Wheat are super-fast to throw together and get better if you prepare them the evening before baking them, as the sourdough has time to get active overnight and will add a lovely tang. For a perfect breakfast, they are crisp on the outside and pillowy-soft on the inside, more so thanks to the added protein powder, adding to the nutrition.
All purpose flour, whole wheat flour, buttermilk, sourdough discard, coconut oil, eggs, sugar, protein powder (optional, replace with flour), salt, baking soda.

Add Wet ingredients to dry ingredients, whisk to just combine. Don't overmix. Bake in your waffle iron.
